Combi Cocorro Lightweight Convertible Car Seat, Chestnut
Review by E. Forman : Great seat, even for a Britax-loving parent!
This is an excellent car seat. I have a Prius - and a Britax frontier booster for my older son occupying half of the back seat. The Cocorro seat is so compact, and really very sturdy. It was tricky to tighten it at first - so I took the car and seat to the fire dept. and the lovely fireman showed me how easy it was to properly tighten the seat. He also commented on how sturdy it was for such a small seat. He said there are so many people who buy really large convertible seats for small cars, thinking they are "safer" - without realizing the hazard of blocking the rear window due to the height of these seats and how difficult it is to properly install them in small cars without pushing the passenger seat all the way up front.
The seat itself is really comfy for the baby - it even has a protective pad over the crotch-strap - which is really good if you have a little boy. We have a Britax Decathlon in our other car, and I love that, but this is just perfect for our Prius and at a great price point for a very safe and sturdy seat. I highly recommend this seat and, for the price, is worth every penny!

Review by Briyyah "Proud Mommy" : Nice Car Seat
I had a graco snug ride infant car seat for my baby girl who is now 18 weeks old weighing in at 15lbs and her car seat is really tight. So snug that she cries whenever we put her in it so I decided to go surfing on the web to find a car seat that would keep her happy and safe. During my search I tried many convertible car seats but they were all so big and bulky. Another issue that I had was traveling. Convertible seats are meant to stay in the car and it is a inconvienice to parents because I know I don't want to carry my baby around everywhere or carry around her stroller (travel system)which is sorta big because they just are. When I was using her infant car seat I purchased the graco snap n go which was a life saver. It was the best purchase that I made. So when I came across the combi cocorro and saw that it wasn't bulky, it came in beautiful colors, it was safe, it would last up to 65lbs, and it has a coccoro flash that you can also purchase as an addition to it. OMG! I was stoked because I have the space and the freedom to take my daughter wherever I want with all of the flexibility. And when the car seat is attached to the flash is is still smaller than a regular stroller. I read reviews about it sliding but when my husband installed it, we didn't have that problem. I also bought a car seat mat so the seat wouldn't slide, so maybe that helped. Oh and I purchased the cherry pie which is way darker than the picture. It's more deep red and wine. It's cute though,it's a nice break from everything pink and brown. It has only been one day but so far my daugher has not cried when I put her in it and it stayed secure the whole ride. If you and I have the same issues in common, I think that the combi cocorro and coccoro flash is worth the money. FYI: I rated it 4 stars because it's brand new so I gotta give it some time to try it out before I say it's perfect.

Review by 9flights "9flights" : Don't need a minivan with these car seats
We bought two of these for my 2 year old twins when I had a third baby. I did NOT want to buy a minivan, so when I found the Coccoro I was elated. We fit two of these and a Graco Snugride in my Hyundai Santa Fe. When my baby turns one and can sit forward facing, we'll get a third Coccoro.
I took one star off for color choices. We got one Cherry Pie and one Strawberry Shake. Both are beautiful, but the Strawberry Shake is filthy after just 2 months of use. I would have rather had a grey or other dark color that hides some of the dirt. The Cherry Pie color is a little better, since it's dark.

Review by Catherine E. Morris "Katie Reed" : PERFECT for a BMW 5 series Sports!
I searched high and low to find a seat that would fit in the middle back seat of a BMW 528i w/ Sports package. I have a radian80 but because of the headrest of the middle seat and height of the carseat, it just wouldn't fit such that my daughter (forward-facing) could sit or sleep comfortably. But the Cocorro fit perfectly. I was even surprised that I was able to get it much tighter than I was able to get the radian80. It fit perfectly in the seat and barely moves at all. Also, there is more shoulder room available to persons sitting on either side of the Cocorro in comparison to the radian80. With the radian80, it was a 10-minute task to even reach the seatbelts but the Cocorro's design allows space in between the seat and the seatbelt locations. Finally, I'll comment on the color. I chose hazelnut and the color matches well with the beige seats in the BMW. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS CAR SEAT TO ANYONE DRIVING A COMPACT CAR!

Review by Amy Epright "Amy E." : Love it!
My husband had trouble installing this seat so I took it to the local health department office where they have someone that can help you do it. This is where I learned that had it right but just had to pull the belt tighter! That's the key to keeping it from tilting to the sides, which is the problem a lot of people seem to have. I love the seat and so does my 11 month-old daughter! It's perfect for our smallish SUV. It's also stylish and not so bulky like most seats on the market. I'd definitely recommend it, especially for families with more than 1 kid.

Review by M Campos Barker : Perfect, cute, fits 3 in rear seats
I love Combi products-- true genius minds at work. My 3rd child outgrew his Combi travel carrier so he is now in this convertible seat rear-facing. I can fit this, a booster seat, and another convertible carseat in the back of my Audi A4. The demo shows how 3 of these fit well in a compact car, and I believe it. I'm buying 2 more: one to replace the bulky convertible Eddie Bauer and the other for grandpa's BMW 330. I plan on having one face rear and the other face forward with a booster in the middle. The old bulky ones will be thrown into my husband's suv. Coccoro is very comfy, well built, and so light to tote from one car to another. Doesn't damage the nice seats, and easy to clean. Meets all safety standards and on the gov't carseat safety list. Looks tiny but my 3 year old fits loves it too. Cute color choices in pink and baby blue. The blue matches my combi double stroller/carrier travel set. Love it.
Follow-up 5/19.
Received another seat for my husband's suv. I would deduct one star because installing the latch rear-facing was not enough. It wobbled too much so I used the should belt option. Make sure to use the blue belt clamp for a tight fit. The forward-facing is rock solid using the belt path and tether on top. I would not recommend this for trucks or suv's. It seems lost in the large/bench seats and wiggles. The bucket/contoured seats in my car allows a snug fit so I still would recommend it for sedans. I took both seats into my car with a booster and it's finally perfect.

Review by Pamela D. Gunderson "pdiannet" : Slim, Lightweight, Great Design
This car seat was bought because we needed to fit three in a row into our Subaru Forester. I already had one seat that was somewhat slim and saw that this seat was the most slim around. I also purchased a Radian 65 at the same time. So, I have a Radian, Combi, and Safety 1st 3in1 altogether in my Forester. They fit perfect. The Combi was a great addition because I have a newborn due to arrive soon, but needed it temporarily for my 15 mo. old as we are having our van transported by barge.
The Combi is lightweight- a huge difference from the Radian. It has a lot of padding in it. I love the infant insert option. It goes in super well in the seat belt latch. It has a pocket built in the cover for the latch system latches, which is so nice that those won't be flying around if there's an accident. It is concave- it surrounds the baby/child: good side protection. My three year old can still fit in this seat also. I love the padding between the buckle between the legs and the baby. My little girl often needs to sit without pants on because she crawls only and gets her pants wet and dirty. I also love the side holders for the buckles and the fact that my 3 year old can't buckle the big harness latch because of it's complexity. He loves to latch all the seat belts every time we get out and it is one more step for me everytime we get back in.
My only concerns are that the chest latch is still sticky from not getting used enough yet, so it is a challenge to open sometimes.

Review by Sofia : Great so far
The size and color are perfect. The material is nice, but it snags easily. My baby has only used it for 6 weeks and so far it's great...looks very comfortable and safe. It seems very secure in our VW with the latch system and even using it the old fashioned way with the seatbelt. I was worried that my baby would outgrow the seat before he hit the weight limit so i put my 2 1/2 year old nephew in it who is very tall for his age and he fit fine! The only thing i do not like is the buckle...you have to fit them together like puzzle pieces before you snap it in...it can be annoying.

Review by C. hsieh : PERFECT for compact cars
After much research, we decided on this because of the size of my compact car - very compact VW beetle convertible :) Realize Britax #1 for safety but I think sometimes parents get carried away with things - I imagine that ANY legit brand ie Combi (and I mean high profile brands that don't have issues) - is going to be safe. Kinda like using tap water on formula, etc. - if there's no glaring prob with it, you gotta trust it's gonna be fine. So not only is this seat very compact and cute, it's also very comfy which I think a lot of carseats are not even though they look padded. The comfort is in the size of this seat - along with the infant insert, your baby is going to fit into it very snuggly. Our son was born 7lbs 5 oz and now at 6 mo is close to 19lbs. The straps adjust for height so he's still very happy in it. Giving it 4 not 5 stars because I do get annoyed with strapping: I like the strap holders but it's easy for the buckle to get tangled up frequently and the way the straps work, you have to really line them perfectly before they will click - sometimes it takes time esp. during winter, when the kid is bundled in layers of clothing and they might be screaming :) - but that's great safety isn't it. We have a recaro carseat in our other car which gets superior ratings but honestly, I think you have a compact car, this is just as great. I do agree that the install was not the easiest but it's solid once you do it right. Not sure I understand the low ratings on this seat..
